Dubai - MENA Herald: Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), Dubai’s flagship free zone entity, has held 3-Day Community Wellness Event at the Free Zone, which included a Blood Donation Drive, Health, Fitness and Weight Assessment Session and a Jafza Wellness Day. The event was part of Jafza’s CSR activities plan which focused on creating awareness about people’s social responsibility as well as to increase consciousness of living a better and healthy life.
Blood Donation Drive:
The Blood Donation Drive organised by Jafza CSR team aimed at creating awareness among the community members that donating blood is a social responsibility. This was the second blood donation drive that Jafza organised in the year. The blood collected during such drives is used in providing assistance to Thalassemia patients, victims of road and burn accidents etc.
The Blood Donation drive was a remarkable success. A large number of Jafza employees and customers donated blood during the 4-hour event.
Fatma Hussain Nasser, Senior Manager – CSR, Jafza Marketing & Communications, said:
“Donating blood is a social responsibility at the same time a healthy practice. A pint of blood donated by a donor can save several lives. As a socially conscious organization EZW is fully committed to drive home these points to as many people as possible including our employees, customers and associates. Frequent blood donation drives organised by EZW aim at that.”
Health, Fitness and Weight Assessment Session
The Health, Fitness and Weight Assessment Session was organised by Jafza Human Resources Department and it focused on the employee’s well-being and fitness issues and assessments.
Jafza Wellness Day
Jafza Wellness Day was organised by Jafza CSR team in collaboration with Dubai Health Authority. The event included health education on anti-smoking and tobacco hazards; back pain and problems related to desk-bound office job; osteoporosis and the importance of vitamin D; healthy diet for healthy life style, dental checkup; eye test and blood pressure and blood sugar checkup conducted by a highly professional team of specialized doctors, dieticians and wellness experts and health counselors.
The Jafza wellness Day was attended by Jafza senior management including Ibrahim Al Janahi, Deputy CEO, Asim Al Abbasi, Group Chief Finance Officer and Talal Al Hashemi, Chief Operations Officer besides more than 200 Jafza employees and customers.
