Manila - MENA Herald: Bahri Ship Management, a business unit within Bahri, which is a global leader in transportation and logistics, recently organized its 11th annual crew conference to provide its crewmembers with an opportunity to learn more about the latest industry developments from experts and share knowledge and experiences.

Held in Manila in the Philippines, the gathering saw over 100 Bahri employees, including officers and seafarers, hear from in-house speakers and international experts on the new safety and other important regulations introduced by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The event also provided the management with a key platform to share the latest company news with its crew.

The conference offered Bahri an important platform to share with its crew key updates and information regarding the United States Coast Guard’s (USCG) QUALSHIP 21 certification, a highly prestigious recognition awarded recently to Bahri’s vessels following a stringent quality and safety assessment.

Abdulaziz Sabri, Acting President, Bahri Ship Management, said: “Our employees are the greatest asset of our company, and we at Bahri believe that the crewmembers are a critical pillar for successfully meeting our strategic objectives. We are constantly looking for new ways to connect with them, and will continue to invest in training opportunities that help enhance their knowledge of the company, the industry and empower them through tools and resources they need to upgrade their own skills and capabilities.”

Sabri added: “Events like these also allow us to get closer to our employees, and share with them our commitment to achieving our objectives and vision within the context of global developments. During the event, over 100 dedicated employees represented the spirit of OneBahri, one team and one unified culture that is helping us reach new shores of success. We thank the speakers and industry experts who interacted with the teams and offered a renewed understanding of the industry.”

Several key topics were discussed during the conference, including environmental compliance while operating ships, best practices in maritime, the need for better cultural awareness and advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle when switching between home and working on a vessel. The crew also enjoyed a number of teambuilding exercises.

The 11th edition of the conference is the first in a series of four such gatherings that Bahri organizes for its crew annually, with the remaining three to take place in India, Russia and Eastern Europe later in the year.
