David Ross, FedEx Regional President, Highlights GCC Opportunities at Leaders in Logistics Summit

Dubai - MENA Herald: FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, was represented by David J. Ross, regional president of FedEx Express Middle East, Indian Subcontinent & Africa at the recent Leaders in Logistics Summit 2015.
Ross participated in the opening panel, “Realizing Aspirations and Meeting Expectations”. During the session, he highlighted the numerous opportunities for logistics players in the Middle East, and particularly those in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.  He also emphasized the importance of public-private sector collaboration, and discussed the benefits of unified customs systems to enable smoother intra-regional trade.
“In the run up to Expo 2020, businesses of all sizes, from both public and private sectors will be involved in one form or the other fuelling growth across all major industries in the UAE. Demand for international and domestic shipping will increase as the country prepares to host the exposition. This opens up opportunities for our sector,” Ross said. “Similarly, the growing logistics infrastructure will enable us to increase and enhance our service offerings.  It is an exciting time to do business in the GCC, and the wider Middle East region.”

The Leaders in Logistics Summit 2015 was attended by the region’s supply chain and logistics industry leaders, representing the decision-makers shaping the sector’s future.
