Al Habtoor Group Chairman Welcomed Greek Minister for Tourism

Dubai – MENA Herald: Al Habtoor Group Chairman Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor received Her Excellency Elena Kountoura, Alternate Minister for Tourism, Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Maritime Affairs and Tourism, Greece at the Group headquarters on Al Wasl Road. The Greek delegation also included His Excellence Dionyssios Zois, Greek Ambassador to the UAE, and George Tziallias, Secretary General for Tourism Policy and Development.

The Greek Minister paid a courtesy call on Al Habtoor Group Chairman as she visited Dubai to attend the Arabian Travel Market 2016, the three-day exhibition being held at the World Trade Centre from 25 to 28 April 2016.

They talked about Greece’s progress – particularly the improved infrastructure; airport facilities, ports and roads – which has driven tourism in Athens and many of the Greek islands.

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor pointed to the rapid expansion of the Group’s hospitality portfolio in recent years with 14 world-class hotels, joining the newly opened The St. Regis Dubai, as well as the upcoming W Dubai – Al Habtoor City, The Westin Dubai, Al Habtoor City and The St. Regis Dubai, Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club. Since the beginning of the year, the Al Habtoor Group has acquired two new properties located in the heart of Europe’s top tourist destinations, the Hilton London Wembley and the historic Hotel Imperial, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Vienna.

Al Habtoor said, “Greece is a beautiful country rich in history and culture. I endorse the strengthening ties between the United Arab Emirates and Greece. I would like to further explore new investment opportunities in the country, including private and government owned properties.”

Al Habtoor presented a copy of his best-selling autobiography, ‘Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor – The Autobiography’ to Minister Kountoura.
