Al-Rais said: "The Global Donors’ Forum of the World Congress of Muslim Philanthropists is considered the leading annual event associated with charity and endowment. This is an important event for us at the Foundation given our engagements in the humanitarian space. We leveraged our participation to highlight Dubai’s and the UAE’s international humanitarian agenda. We were also able to identify ways of stepping up cooperation among like-minded entities to enhance our contributions to charity and humanity and promote values of tolerance, philanthropy and solidarity among the world’s people to achieve social and economic development based on justice and equality."

The Global Muslim Donors’ Forum 2016 covered wide-ranging topics including the promotion of charity works through Islamic finance and the role of strategic communication in countering extremism and campaigns of hostility towards Islam. It also examined how to achieve sustainable development in the management of refugee affairs, the role of media and public relations in introducing noble values of generosity and solidarity to communities and how to activate and grow endowment institutions to meet future requirements.

In addition to networking with officials and stakeholders of charitable organizations, the Secretary General of the Foundation also interacted with donors who expressed keenness in contributing to improving the lives of underprivileged people around the world. The meetings helped open doors of communication and knowledge of best practices and exchange of expertise to further raise and develop the mandate of social and humanitarian services.
