DEWA honours its Internal Awards employees for the first half of 2015

Dubai – MENA Herald: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) honoured employees who have won at its Internal Awards for the first half of 2015. This is in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to support the Dubai government’s continuing efforts to provide world-class quality services and innovative results that adhere to set international standards.

Winning employees were commended for winning across categories like Innovation, Employee Excellence, Administrative Excellence, Special Honours and the My DEWA Ideas programme. The winners of the Innovation Research Awards were also lauded for their contributions. This is an initiative to support research, studies, universities, and research centres in the UAE.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA congratulated the winners and commended them for their contributions and efforts to help DEWA achieve its vision to become a sustainable innovative world-class utility.

DEWA has raised its standards for the internal awards, in light of the Dubai Government Excellency Program (DGEP), which also aims to create positive competiveness among our employees and to develop the performance of individuals and respective departments, to the happiness of our employees, customers and stakeholders. DEWA’s Internal Awards ceremony is held every six months. Winners are encouraged to enrol in the Excellence Bank, which will give them the opportunity to become a candidate for the DGEP.” Said Eng. The innovation category includes sub-categories like Innovative Leader, Innovative Employee and Innovative Idea. Meanwhile, the employee excellence subcategories includes Distinguished Female Employee, Distinguished Financial/Administrative Employee, Distinguished Technical/Engineering Employee, Distinguished Employee in Specialist Jobs, Distinguished Employee, Distinguished Field Employee, and Distinguished New Recruit/Employee.

The administrative excellence categories include sub-categories such as Innovative Idea, Distinguished Administrative Initiative, Distinguished Technical/Engineering Project, Distinguished Task/Action Team and Distinguished Government Joint Project.

Lastly, the Special Awards includes The Unknown Soldier, Innovative Employee, Best Innovative Division, and Best Innovative Coordinator.
