DEWA honours winners of Internal Corporate Excellence Award 2015

Dubai - MENA Herald: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has recognised distinguished employees for the first half of 2015 at the Internal Corporate Excellence Awards in support of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote excellence, creativity and quality and DEWA’s strategy to enhance government excellence, based on international standards.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO, DEWA, accompanied by Waleed Salman, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, honoured the 160 employees in a special ceremony held at the Jumeirah Beach hotel attended by Executive Vice Presidents, directors and employees. The employees of the bi-annual award received awards for the following categories: Employee Excellence, Administrative Excellence, Corporate Excellence, Customer Service, Corporate Strategic Excellence, Risk Management, Sustainability, Service Level Agreements, and other sub categories.
“We take great inspiration from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who taught us valuable lessons regarding success and sustainable excellence. I recall His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum once saying, “You can never create a competitive environment unless you reward and praise creativity.” In support of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to nurture talent, reward achievements, and encourage the development of employees, we constantly praise the achievements of our different departments and administrative sections, and provide them with a positive work environment to encourage their commitment, thus improving the overall performance of our government, and the happiness of our employees,” said Al Tayer

I would like to congratulate the winners of the Internal Excellence Awards on behalf of everyone at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and I ask everyone to continue to unite in their efforts and strengthen cooperation to achieve our strategic objectives and goals, while also enhancing DEWA’s position locally, regionally and internationally,” added Al Tayer.

DEWA has raised its standards for the internal awards, in light of the Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP), which aims to create healthy competition among our employees and to develop the performance of individuals and respective departments, for the happiness of our employees, customers and stakeholders. DEWA’s Internal Awards are held every six months. Winners are encouraged to enrol in the Excellence Bank, which will give them the opportunity to become a candidate for DGEP,” said Salman.
