Dubai - MENA Herald: Aluminium Middle East 2017 is expected to host over 200 regional and global exhibitors in the fifth edition of the Middle East’s largest aluminium event. The event is set to position Dubai as the preferred manufacturing centre for leading international companies, in line with the Dubai Industrial Strategy plans and building on the consistent year on year growth of the aluminium industry in Dubai.

As part of its commitment to the vision of developing a sustainable diversified economic model, Dubai continues to establish itself as a key international player and the ideal platform for the global Aluminium industry to converge. The Middle East’s largest Aluminium producer boasts an extensive industrial base and looks to provide immense growth opportunities with its great up and coming projects.

Daniyal Qureshi, Group Exhibition Director of Reed Exhibitions Middle East, the official organizers of Aluminium Middle East said, “The biennial Aluminium Middle East exhibition is set to bring the key frontrunners of the aluminium industry from all over the world. Through this platform we are looking to initiate a collaborative agenda for companies to come together, create dialogue, exchange ideas, and build on the success of the region’s multi-billion-dollar industry”.

“Exhibitors will present their latest aluminium production technologies, including the latest in processing and refinement to serve as a proof point to the region’s high standards,” he added.

With the recently launched Dubai Industrial Strategy, the United Arab Emirates is boosting its economic competitiveness through initiatives such as the six priority sub-sectors, including aluminium and fabricated metals, which was identified as a key sector with a great growth potential.

Stylianos Tsoktouridis, General Manager at Taweelah Aluminium Extrusion Co. (TALEX) LLC said, “The aluminium industry represents the flagship of the UAE’s industrial growth and economy diversification plans, generating over AED4.0 billion in revenues and accounting 46 per cent of the overall GCC aluminium output. The aluminium industry in the UAE has combined investments in the upstream and downstream aluminium industry with an ‘open for business’ attitude that ranked UAE amongst the top 5 biggest aluminium producers globally.”

Janko Zerjav, Member of the Board of Directors at IMPOL added, “At IMPOL we evaluate the importance of a show like Aluminium Middle East based on the continuous growth of the aluminium market in the region. We are attending Aluminium Middle East as we are constantly seeking opportunities in new markets to further expand our business.”

Emirates Global Aluminium, the UAE’s industrial flagship will be among the exhibitors, having produced over 2.4 million tonnes in 2016, ranking it among the five largest primary aluminium producers in the world. The aluminium conglomerate owned equally by Mubadala Development Company of Abu Dhabi and Investment Corporation of Dubai, exports over 88% of its production worldwide across Asia, Africa and Europe. A figure expected to drop in 2017 as a result of the significant rise in local demand.

Over 3,500 visitors are expected from over 70 countries at the show this year, demonstrating the increased focus on global opportunities in this sector. The show will feature six international pavilions (Germany, Italy, India, China, North America and Egypt) and two new dedicated zones meant to highlight the vision of the Gulf Cooperation Council of focusing on diversifying their economies.
