Dubai - MENA Herald: Etisalat today announced the signing of an agreement with Palo Alto Networks, the next-generation security company, to bring next-generation security services to organisations across the Middle Eastern region.  During GITEX, held 18-22 October in Dubai, senior officials from Etisalat and Palo Alto Networks met to celebrate the completion of the agreement.

Under the terms of the agreement, Etisalat will expand its Managed Security Services offerings to include the Palo Alto Networks next-generation security platform, delivering the latest security technology to help organizations safely enable applications and protect their computing environments from known and unknown cyberthreats, without having to manage and monitor the technology themselves. This can help organizations prevent successful breaches without requiring significant resource investments and enables them to draw on OPEX budgets at a time where CAPEX funds are under increasing pressure.

A recent report from Cybersecurity Ventures, a leading research and business development firm, has forecast that the cybersecurity market in the Middle East and Africa region (MEA) is expected to grow to USD 13 billion by the year 2019, covering an expected compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13 percent in the next five years.

Salvador Anglada, Chief Business Officer of Etisalat said, “Cybersecurity threats are becoming more diverse and frequent, and pose greater dangers than ever for businesses worldwide. As cybersecurity gains strategic priority for organisations in the Middle East, organisations are looking to have flexibility and scalability to adapt to changes in the environment. Our agreement with Palo Alto Networks is significant as it adds value to our existing security portfolio, which offers our customers network, cloud, and data center security services. These new services will provide organisations a strong security partner ecosystem, incorporating end-to-end security throughout the network infrastructure.”

René Bonvanie, Chief Marketing Officer, Palo Alto Networks, said, “We are very pleased to team with Etisalat in bringing to organisations across the Middle East region next-generation security that can prevent successful breaches.   Providing access to advanced protection in a way that enables our joint customers to manage both their risk and their security budgets significantly contributes towards the strengthening of the defences that protect our digital lifestyles.”

Etisalat’s current managed security services cater to businesses, reflecting the essential security services required by an organisation in UAE. Etisalat’s agreement with Palo Alto Networks will further expand this portfolio and provide enterprise and businesses leading edge security services. It will provide customers access to a comprehensive ecosystem of managed cloud, network, and cyber security services to combat the increased threat activity in the region.
