During the event, Mr. Ahmed bin Salem Almoosa honored H.E. Engineer Rashad Bukhash, Executive Director of the Architectural Heritage Department, Dubai Municipality and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference, in recognition of his efforts and effective role in preserving the architectural heritage of the UAE.
“Falconcity of Wonders” participated as a Platinum Sponsor in the IACCE 2016, which was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and Chairman of Dubai Municipality, with the theme ‘Sustainable Heritage: Global Vision, Local Experiences.’ It gathered researchers, professionals, and local and international organizations to facilitate the exchange of information, experiences and knowledge on sustainability and heritage conservation. The conference also recognized the exceptional
efforts of individuals and organizations that have a positive impact in the preservation of the UAE’s culture and heritage.
H.E. Almoosa said: “We always support events such as IACCE that foster greater collaboration on the conservation of the UAE’s heritage and the protection of its natural wealth. We would also like to commend IACCE for continuing to provide a vital voice for the UAE’s sustainability and heritage conservation efforts; FCW is very proud to support its vision and initiatives which echo our own aspirations as well. This year’s IACCE theme, ‘Sustainable Heritage: Global Vision, Local Experiences,’ reflects the nature of FCW: although our development offers a ‘City of Wonders’ where one can experience the world in one place, it also takes great pride in the UAE’s heritage as reflected in the shape of the city itself.”
Falconcity of Wonders (FCW), the multipurpose mega project currently being built in Dubai, was also commended at IACCE 2016 for serving as a role model on how to sustainably preserve national culture and heritage even in major developments. The more than 41-million-square-foot residential, tourist, entertainment and recreational complex is constructed in the shape of a falcon in honor of the UAE’s national emblem.
