Abu Dhabi – MENA Herald: Under the theme “Transforming the Customer Experience”, the 4th UAE Banks Federation Annual Conference, the Middle East Banking Forum 2016, is set to focus on new approaches to banking in a period of immense change. The conference aims to bring together high profile speakers and global industry experts and leaders to participate and share their thoughts and best practices on key banking and financial issues. The event, organised by the Federation in association with The Financial Times Live and The Banker, will be held at the St Regis Hotel Cornish, in Abu Dhabi on the 14th of November, and is expected to be attended by 400 delegates from the region.
His Excellency AbdulAziz Al Ghurair, Chairman of the UAE Banks Federation commented: “Year on year, we aim to take UBF’s Annual Conference to a new level, both in terms of content and quality of participants. We intend to include topics that are at the forefront of senior bankers’ minds, offering them the right platform to explore topics and practices that could improve and develop customer service and experience with a level of security that can be maintained against fraud and cybercrime. In the past, we have looked at innovation and the challenge of the new digital age. In this year’s forum, we want to focus primarily on how banks can work collectively and effectively to develop customer centric methodologies and data to allow us to better understand customers’ needs and requirements.”
H.E AbdulAziz Al Ghurair and H.E Mubarak Rashid Khamis Al Mansoori, Governor of the UAE Central Bank, will deliver opening remarks and scene-setting addresses at the beginning of the forum. Ron Kaufman, the award-winning customer experience guru and bestselling author, is a natural opening keynote choice for this year’s conference. He has authored 15 books, and he is a regular columnist at Bloomberg Businessweek. Ron is also the author of the New York Times bestseller “Uplifting Service” and founder of the customer service training company, UP! Your Service. Closing keynote speaker Marcus Treacher, Global Head of Strategic Accounts at Ripple will be focusing on how banks can retain digital talent to support the shift to digital in the banking sector.
This year’s programme will also include presentations, panel sessions and onstage interviews, where senior executives from regional and international banks will be joined by thought leaders and experts to share their experience and perspectives of how banks can implement innovative banking strategies. Topics to be discussed include the phenomenon of de-risking, improving the customer experience, mobile banking, cyber security, business resilience, fraud prevention and the impact of financial technology.
