Dubai - MENA Herald: Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Government Innovation in partnership with the University of Cambridge has launched the second batch of Public Sector Innovation Diploma Programme. More than 54 Federal and Local Government entities have enrolled for the programme, which aims to build National capacity in government-related innovation.
The one-year diploma program is an intensive course that connects participants with experts and consists of five theoretical and professional training courses. It also includes training activities, workshops and a field visit to the campus of the University of Cambridge. This comprehensive program aims at providing participants with the right concepts to enrich innovation and make it part of their work culture at their entities, to meet the goals of UAE National Innovation Strategy.
As part of the requirements, participants work in teams to design and develop a Capstone Project that solves challenges in the government sector. The project will be honoured at the “UAE Innovation Week” this November.
Huda Al Hashimi Assistant Director General for Strategy & Innovation, in the Prime Minister’s Office said: “Following the success of the first batch, we are now launching the second batch of the programme. Its content is developed to include theory, practical training and prototypes methods. For the next phase, the center is looking to develop customized innovative projects for government entities here the participants work. This will contribute to improving their work processes and help achieve their organizational goals in addition to strengthening the culture of innovation within their entity.”
The graduation ceremony of the first batch was held in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
The programme is regarded as the first-of-its-kind that nurtures the innovation skills of the National workforce. It has received overwhelming response after the Centre approached government entities with the opportunity to train their employees.
