Abu Dhabi - MENA Herald: Tadweer (The Center of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi) organized an Open Day on 23 March 2017 at Corniche Hospital. The event comes in line with its mission to promote environmental sustainability and foster a conscious community that contributes to transforming waste into economic returns.

H.E. Eisa Saif Al Qubaisi General Manager of Tadweer said: “At Tadweer, we aspire to raise environmental awareness amongst the community to enable the adoption of the positive environmental habits, particularly in segregating waste at source and recycling. This is Tadweer’s short and medium-term strategy for waste management and public health pest control, which directly contributes towards the Abu Dhabi Environmental Vision 2030.”

“By organizing this open day, we shed the light on Tadweer’s values, which are built on sustainability, culture of change, excellence, innovation and social responsibility,” H.E Al Qubaisi added.

The event hosted a number of activities including an employees’ contest for the best handcrafted item from recycled materials, a workshop for visitors and employees to raise environmental awareness, in addition to a bi-lingual educative lecture in Arabic and English. A dedicated art gallery featuring handicrafts photography and artworks made from recyclable materials was showcased during the open day.

Educating the community on the importance of keeping the environment safe and adopting the right habits to maintain a responsible sustainable society remain at the forefront of Tadweer’s priorities.
