Western Bainouna Group and EMC Daimler CV proud of strong long-standing relationship

Abu Dhabi - MENA Herald: Emirates Motor Company (EMC) - the authorized distributor of Mercedes-Benz in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the flagship company of Al Fahim Group - further strengthen relations with Western Bainouna Group’s (WBG) Mercedes-Benz fleet expansion – which now boasts of over 300 trucks, including a recent collaboration on the newly launched PowerShift technology, an automated gearshift system used within the Mercedes-Benz Actros.

Bilal Al Ribi, General Manager of EMC Daimler Commercial Vehicles (CV), said: “Our collaboration with WBG is in line with our continued priority to provide unlimited commitment to service excellence to contribute to enhancing the infrastructure of Abu Dhabi, supporting the construction of big developments in the emirate, and overall helping in the advancement of the country.”

Martin A McGinty Chief Executive officer at Western Bainoona Group (WBG), said: “Over the past 25 years, WBG has built a strong long-term relationship with EMC. Our transport fleet comprises the latest trailers and trucks and includes over 300 Mercedes-Benz Actros vehicles.”

Bilal added, “Moreover, being a keen supporter of road safety, we also regularly conduct driver trainings to keep WBG’s Mercedes-Benz truck drivers upskilled with the latest truck technology offered by the brand.”

Recently, EMC Daimler CV launched the Mercedes-Benz PowerShift, which offers various benefits to drivers of heavy trucks including outstanding comfort and higher shifting speeds. In addition to improved maneuvering capabilities and increased driving stability, the automated transmission system ensures slick shifting, efficient power transmission and better handling of the new generation trucks from Mercedes-Benz.

Bilal continued: “WBG is looking into this new technology, now fitted into one of the new Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks in their fleet, as it will ensure efficient operations over the lifecycle of the vehicle. The PowerShift feature offers a variety of benefits to businesses such as reduced fuel consumption, increased vehicle robustness and improved performance.”
