World Free Zones Organization to Kick-off 2nd Annual International Conference and Exhibition in Dubai Tomorrow

Dubai - MENA Herald: Dubai-based World Free Zones Organization (FZO) will kick-off its 2nd Annual International Conference and Exhibition tomorrow (May 9) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Titled ‘Global Value Chain: Opportunities for the Free Zone of the Future’, the conference and exhibition will run until May 11 at the Grand Hyatt Dubai. Drawing the participation of World FZO members, global economic experts, academics, government officials, and policy makers, the event assumes added significance given the substantial growth of free zones in recent years. The 2016 edition will also attract the participation of international free zones, multi-lateral and commercial organizations and facilitate the exchange ideas towards developing a vision for the free zone of the future.
Industry professionals will share the latest research, insights and analysis on the growing importance and impact of special economic zones across the globe. The event will also serve as a platform to identify the most important benchmarks of success, growth and development in the sector.
The three-day conference and exhibition will include 5 panel discussions and 6 workshops. The discussions will focus on key challenges facing free zones today and the most significant opportunities they have ahead of them towards shaping a dynamic environment that supports the growth of this pivotal economic sector. Prominent topics of discussion will include beyond best in class practices, policies and their implications in global value chain, as well as the opportunities in global value chain for free zone of the future and the perspective of multinational corporations with regard to global value chain, among others.
In addition, the workshops will examine topics such as attracting investment into free zones, applying innovative design thinking at organizations based in free zones, and understanding and measuring the economic impact of free zones.
