WETEX 2016 to witness massive turnout of leading international energy companies

Dubai - MENA Herald: The 18th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2016), to be organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA, has attracted wide participation from global and regional companies and senior experts in the water, energy and environment sectors to display their latest sustainability initiatives, projects, technologies and solutions.
Set to be held from 4-6 October 2016 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, WETEX 2016 will be organised as part of the Green Week; in conjunction with the third World Green Economy Summit (WGES), and the inaugural of the first Dubai Solar Show, which will showcase the most recent innovations in solar energy sector, and its major projects regionally and globally. In addition, Dubai Solar Show provides an excellent opportunity to build a powerful partnerships enhancing solar energy sector all over the region.
WETEX 2016 will witness several events and activities, including innovation contests with participation from local and international universities, and sponsors being honoured. During Green Week, visitors and guests from WETEX will be taken to DEWA’s sustainable building in Al Quoz, and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. New businesses will meet at both venues to finalise effective partnerships for future projects in solar, water, environment and clean technology.
“This international participation at WETEX 2016 reflects the global positioning of Dubai thanks to the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, that has placed Dubai on the global map as a leading financial, business, tourism, sustainability and green economy hub,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, President and Founder of WETEX.
“DEWA has sent official delegates to many countries to promote WETEX and its main objectives, and maximise participation of commercial delegations. These visits also aimed to promote the show to companies and organisations specialised in energy, water and environment so that they can leverage their presence at one of the largest exhibitions of its kind in the world,” he added.
“Through WETEX, we aim to provide the exhibitors with a unique platform to build positive and fruitful partnerships between public and private sectors. This will reinforce the show’s role as a global platform for exchanging views and experiences and as a springboard to launch mega-projects, which would accelerate investments in the energy sector and speed up the transformation into a sustainable green economy,” Al Tayer concluded.
