Dubai - MENA Herald: Accenture, a leader in comprehensive, integrated digital business and technology services that deliver tangible business results for its clients, has once again reinforced its position as the ‘Exclusive Digital Transformation Partner’ of GITEX Technology Week. This year’s partnership entails the launch of the ‘Accenture Technology Vision 2016 report’, which provides an in-depth look into the region’s technology trends. In addition, Accenture Digital Chief Executive, Mike Sutcliff, will headline the GITEX Grand Keynote session on the opening day. GITEX Technology Week 2016 will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 16-20.

“As the Middle East’s Internet of Things and Digital Economy accelerates, welcoming back Accenture as the GITEX Technology Week Exclusive Digital Transformation Partner will leverage Accenture’s insights and best practices to guide organizations in key industry verticals in their digital transformations. With the UAE at the centre of embracing innovation, Accenture’s report and insights will make a major contribution in supporting the UAE Vision 2021 and Dubai Plan 2021 goals of smart nationwide digital transformation,” said His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General, Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing and the Dubai World Trade Centre Authority.

Omar Boulos, regional managing director of Accenture in the Middle East and North Africa, said: “Accenture is proud to be the exclusive digital transformation partner of GITEX Technology Week. The digital space is evolving at a rapid pace, and organizations need to understand how they can best leverage digital technologies to support their organizations. Accenture will be sharing global and regional best practices and insights into how to harness the power of digital, particularly smart technologies that have the ability to transform how each and every one of us lives and works.”

Tony Karam, managing director of Accenture Digital in the Middle East and North Africa, said: “The UAE, in particular, is rife with opportunities for the adoption of the smart technologies that are transforming our world, leading us into a future that we could have only imagined a decade back. With ‘reimagining realities’ as the core theme of this year’s GITEX, we look forward to sharing our vision of the future with delegates throughout the event.”

Throughout GITEX Technology Week, Accenture will participate in several industry sessions, demonstrating the full scope of its capabilities. These include Marketing Monday on October 17, Finance Tuesday on October 18, and Retail Wednesday on October 19.

Accenture will also be involved in the closed-door CISO breakfast briefing on October 18, at which Uwe Kissmann, Managing Director, Cyber Security Services in Europe will provide insight into the leading edge of internet security issues.

In support of the technology experts of the future, Accenture will award the winner of GITEX’s Student Lab competition with an internship at the company. This further demonstrates Accenture’s commitment to growing local talent and enabling them to cultivate valuable careers while contributing to their countries’ growth and innovation agendas.

Accenture will help facilitate a ‘digital discussion’ through social media wall installations throughout the GITEX Technology Week venue at this year’s event, where visitors will also be able to experience Accenture’s future vision through demonstrations.

To empower clients in the region in expediting the complete digital transformation journey from vision to becoming a digital business, Accenture recently opened its first Digital Acceleration Centre in Dubai Internet City. It is the eighth centre for Accenture worldwide set to showcase next-generation software and hardware technologies, such as advanced analytics, wearable technology, network systems, robotics and the Internet of Things.
