Innovation Arabia 9 explores innovation and scientific research aspects of sustainable development process

Dubai - MENA Herald: Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, President of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU), the university is preparing to host the ninth session of the Innovation Arabia congress which will be held from March 7 to 9, 2016 at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai under the theme “Accelerating Innovation Towards Sustainable Economy.” The event will be participated in by senior governmental officials, decision makers, thought leaders, academics, researchers, consultants, and entrepreneurs from different important fields and sectors around the world to exchange expertise and discuss the crucial role of innovation in achieving sustainable and comprehensive development.
Innovation Arabia 9 will focus on scientific research that provides an integral interactive platform for establishing a culture of innovation and further evolving research capabilities by giving learners from different disciplines from around the world the opportunity to present their work and comprehensive studies on the best practices and solutions. The focus will be on bridging the growing gap between theory and application in the three main fields of Quality and Business Management, Health and Environment, and Smart Learning Excellence. It will also highlight the transformation into knowledge-based economies within Arab World, with the various aspects as well as mechanisms of implementation in the region to be discussed in a series of roundtables, workshops, and formal and informal sessions throughout the three-day event.
Innovation Arabia 9’s list of speakers include Irina Bokova, the first woman to be designated as Director General of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization; Osman Sultan, CEO, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications PJSC (du); Dr. Maria Neira, Director, Public Health and the Environment Department, World Health Organization; Dr. Waleed Salman, Chairman of Dubai Green Economy Partnership; Mr. Samer Abu Ltaif, Regional General Manager, Gulf Region - Microsoft; Prof. Dr. Dae Joon Hwang from Sungkyunkwan University, Korea; Prof. Michael G. Meimaris Director of New Technologies Laboratory in Communication- University of Athens, Greece; David (Daud) Vicary (Abdullah) President & CEO of INCEIF, The Global University of Islamic Finance; Prof. Adrian Wilkinson Director of the Centre for Work, Organisation and Wellbeing at Griffith University – Australia; and Dr. Marwa J. Zohdy, Vice President of Global Consulting Services for Joint Commission International. The congress will be attended by an elite group of public officials, academics, researchers, specialized institutions, as well as NGOs and private sector representatives from around the world.
Dr. Mansour Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, affirmed the importance of the Innovation Arabia congress in providing opportunities for entrepreneurs to exchange research ideas, insights, as well as best practices which drive innovation and creativity among the most important supporting sectors towards economic and social sustainability in the Arab World. He noted that the event affirms the University’s commitment to spread a culture of smart education and promote scientific research in line with the vision of the wise leadership to drive the UAE’s transformation process. He explained that this complements the objective of the National Innovation Strategy to develop the UAE into one of the most innovative countries in the world by 2021.
