Dubai – MENA Herald: More than 100 strategy performance directors and Innovation CEOs from federal government entities came together at a seminar organised by Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation (MBRCGI) to define global indicators of innovation measurement, and examine how they can be applied to improve government work in the UAE. The seminar on the topic, ‘Government Innovation Measurement Indicators’, was organised in collaboration with INSEAD Business School.
Commenting on the event, Huda Al Hashimi, Executive Director of MBRCGI, said the seminar discussed the most important principles and tools of innovation measurement to help government entities evaluate their services.
“Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation seeks through these seminars and other events to build national capacities in the area of government innovation and develop an integrated system of tools to stimulate a culture of innovation to achieve the objectives of the National Agenda and the UAE Vision 2021,” Al Hashimi said.
She said the centre aims to take advantage of the best global practices, experiences and expertise to promote innovation and measure its impact on the development of government work.
The seminar was led by Mariam Al Hammadi, Executive Director of Government Performance Sector in the Prime Minister Office, and Dr. Sami Mahroum, Founding Director of INSEAD Innovation and Policy Initiative.
Mariam Al Hammadi showcased innovation measurement system of the UAE government based on its experience of more than three decades in performance measurement, and explained the prospects of developing it further.
Dr. Sami Mahroum lauded the efforts of the UAE government in promoting innovation culture and finding the best tools of innovation measurement to develop government services. He also highlighted the experiences of leading countries in innovation measurement such as Australia, South Korea, and the UK.
Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation aims to develop an integrated system of modern tools to help government entities to adopt innovation in the sector and provide innovative services to the public. The Centre is focused on establishing the culture of innovation in various areas of public sector activity. The model of MBRCGI is based on three main pillars: Innovative Ideas, Innovative Capabilities, and Innovative Culture.
MBRCGI organises a series of events and government innovation laboratories to support the development of services and find solutions to challenges. It is also working on training national talents and promoting their capacity in the area of government innovation, in addition to building a global network of partnerships with universities and specialised institutes.
