UAE Leads in Smart City Innovation in Robotics, Drones, and 3D Printing at GITEX Technology Week 2015

Dubai - MENA Herald: Demonstrating the UAE’s role as a global hub for Smart City innovation, GITEX Technology Week is hosting global launches and regional showcases of the latest robotics, drones, and 3D printing solutions.

Dubai-based DigiRobotics presented global launches of its CafeBot high-tech restaurant, with touch screen tables, robotic chefs and waitresses, and the TaxiBot driverless taxi with GPS location tracking. These can transform the customer and visitor experience in malls, airports, universities, convention centres, and public spaces.

In 3D printing, Jacky’s Business Solutions LLC is featuring BigRep One.2, the world’s largest 3D printer currently on the market, Artec's Shapify booth, a full 3D-body scanning solution, and a 3D-printed model of the Burj Khalifa. Also on display at Jacky’s Business Solutions’ stand are the MakerBot Innovation Centre, designed for schools wanting to get more efficiency out of their 3D printing labs, and Mcor Iris HD, the only printer that uses paper for 3D printouts.

DJI, one of the world’s largest consumer drones manufacturer, introduced the Osmo, the world’s first fully-integrated, stabilised handheld 4K camera for drones, and the Zenmuse X5 series, the world’s first set of micro four-third cameras built for aerial photography and cinematography.

Alongside DJI are the UAE Drones for Good Award, showcasing winners from its competition, 3D Robotics and Monster Middle East, Universal Holdings LLC and AEE, GDU Aerial Technology (ProDrone), and Harwar.
